Overview

A first-class Stripe integration for self-hosted Joomla commerce.

The plugin renders Stripe's Payment Element directly in your Solidshop checkout. The element negotiates the best available method for each customer — card, Apple Pay on Safari, Google Pay on Android, Klarna in supported regions — and submits the payment via a server-side PaymentIntent. No card data ever touches your server.

Webhook events confirm the payment status out-of-band, so your orders move to PAID reliably even if a customer closes the tab after authorisation. Test-mode and live-mode credentials live side-by-side — flip a switch to go live, no other configuration changes required.

Stripe Payment Element

One unified element renders cards, Apple/Google Pay, Link, Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay, iDEAL, Bancontact, SEPA, and any new method Stripe rolls out — automatically, for the customer's region and device.

3-D Secure & SCA compliant

Strong Customer Authentication is handled by Stripe's PaymentIntent flow. Friction-only-where-needed: customers in the EU/UK breeze through low-risk payments and step up only when required.

Webhook reconciliation

A webhook handler verifies Stripe's HMAC signature and reconciles payment_intent.succeeded and charge.refunded events. Orders update to PAID / REFUNDED even when the customer never returns to your site — including refunds you issue straight from the Stripe dashboard.

Stripe Connect

Run a marketplace or multi-vendor model? Configure a connected account ID per store and payments are charged on behalf of the connected merchant. Application fees stay on your Stripe platform account.

Test & live credentials side-by-side

Save both sets at once. A single test-mode switch toggles which credentials Solidshop uses — no risk of accidentally pasting your test secret over your live one when you're rotating keys.

Optional surcharge fee

Add a fixed fee when Stripe is selected at checkout. Surfaced as a separate line on the order so you can reconcile against Stripe's processing fees cleanly.
