After installation, the first thing you need to do is create a store. A store holds your business details, default currency, and all configuration for tax, shipping, payments, and email templates. Solidshop supports multiple stores, but you only need one to get started.
In the Joomla admin sidebar, click Solidshop → Stores, then click the New button in the toolbar.
The store form has the following required fields:
- Store name — your business or brand name
- Email — the email address shown on invoices and order notifications
- Phone — your business phone number
- Address — street address, city, country, state/province, and postal code
- Currency — the default currency for this store (e.g. USD, EUR, GBP)
Optional fields include a legal business name (if different from the store name), a logo image, and a second address line.
In the Options tab, configure:
- Timezone — used for order timestamps and scheduling
- Unit system — Metric (kg, cm) or Imperial (lb, in)
- Weight unit — Kilograms or Grams
- Order number prefix/suffix — e.g. prefix
ORD-produces order numbers likeORD-1001
In the Order tab, choose defaults for:
- Default order status — the initial status when an order is created (e.g. “Pending”)
- Default payment status — typically “Pending”
- Default fulfillment status — typically “Unfulfilled”
- Countable order statuses — which statuses count towards your sales dashboard numbers
Click Save & Close. Your store is now active. You can come back to edit any of these settings at any time.
Currencies are managed under Solidshop → Currencies. Solidshop ships with common currencies pre-loaded. Each currency has a code (USD), a symbol ($), an exchange rate, and formatting options (decimal places, thousand separator). Your store’s default currency is set to an exchange rate of 1.0; other currencies convert relative to it.
